Kennesaw State University Mathematics Competition
The Kennesaw State University Mathematics Competition is a two-round math competition which will occur for the first time in the 2006–2007 school year. It is open to all Georgia high school students.
Format
Part I of the competition will be held in the competitors' schools. It will consist of twenty-five multiple-choice questions to be solved in ninety minutes. Papers will be mailed to Kennesaw State University (KSU) to be graded.
The top five to ten percent of the Part I participants will be invited to take Part II, a two-hour, five problem test, also taken at the competitors' schools. Most will require proof or justification; all will require process to be shown. Papers will be graded by KSU mathematics faculty.
Result
The 30 students with the highest composite scores (Part I & II) statewide will be invited to an awards ceremony and reception at Kennesaw State University, along with their parents, mathematics teachers, and principals. Also attending will be the KSU mathematics faculty.
The April reception will include refreshments and a mathematics presentation by a member of the Department of Mathematics at Kennesaw State University.
The 2025—2026 Competition
Part I's registration deadline is on Wednesday, October 20, 2025. Part I will occur on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. Part II will occur on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.
