AoPS Wiki:Policy
AoPS Wiki Policies 1. Content Guidelines Articles must be math-focused, relevant to problem-solving, contests, or educational topics.
Content should aim to be clear, accurate, and accessible to a range of users.
Avoid off-topic material, opinion pieces, or personal anecdotes unless clearly relevant.
2. Article Standards Follow standard formatting (e.g., LaTeX for math, headers for sections).
Use existing templates when applicable.
Avoid duplicate content—merge similar topics into a single comprehensive article.
3. Editing Policy Be bold but respectful when editing—fix errors, clarify language, and improve structure.
Do not delete large sections without discussion unless it’s vandalism or spam.
Use the Talk page for major changes or disputes.
4. Collaboration & Conduct Be respectful in discussions. Personal attacks, rudeness, or harassment are not allowed.
Assume good faith—most editors are trying to help.
Use the AoPS Community Guidelines as a baseline for behavior.
5. Attribution & Sources Credit external sources where appropriate. Avoid copying copyrighted materials.
When importing content (e.g., from books or other wikis), ensure permission or fair use compliance.
6. Vandalism and Spam Vandalism (malicious edits, nonsense, trolling) is strictly prohibited and may result in a ban.
Spam links or self-promotion will be removed without notice.
7. Administrator Rights Admins may lock pages, resolve disputes, or revert harmful edits.
Persistent rule-breaking may lead to warnings, temporary bans, or account restrictions.
8. Protected Content Some high-quality or sensitive pages may be semi-protected (only trusted users can edit).
Propose changes to protected pages via the Talk page.
