Problem
There are classes at Webster Middle School. Each class has
students. On Monday,
students were at school. How many students were absent?
Solution 1
We can subtract the number of students that were at school from the number of students that would've been at school if none of the students were absent.
Since each class has people and there are
classes,
people in total
However, people were at school, so
people were absent.
