Problem

In a group of $12$ friends, each friend gives $$5$ to a charity. How much money does the group give in total?

$\textbf{(A)}\ $50\qquad\textbf{(B)}\ $55\qquad\textbf{(C)}\ $60\qquad\textbf{(D)}\ $65\qquad\textbf{(E)}\ $70$

Solution

We can simply multiply the number of friends by the number of dollars that they each give to charity.

$12 \times $5 = \boxed {\textbf {(C) } $60}$
